As you might have guessed by now, we often turn to the movies for our style inspiration. And why wouldn’t we? Production designers, set designers and costume designers spend months preparing every detail, a little different from my frozen shuffling in front of my wardrobe on a winter’s morning. That shuffle is made longer by the fact that 60% of my wardrobe is made up dainty vintage dresses, beautiful but not entirely practical for an icy walk to work. One of the most beautifully designed films in recent times, The Edge of Love, starring Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller is the perfect guide to bringing your summery vintage dresses through autumn and winter. Here are some of my favourite images from the film.

This might flirt closer to spring dressing but look, chunky socks, thick boots and masculine hats are all perfect for cosying up your floaty florals.

This is more like it. Chunky knits in bright block colours look great over vintage prints.
